👥 About Your Instructor: Yazid Jalil
Yazid found the clown the same way most people do—reluctantly, and then all at once.
Despite two decades of rigorous training—graduating from the Intercultural Theatre Institute, earning a First Class Honours degree, and later obtaining an MA in Arts Pedagogy (Distinction) from Goldsmiths (University of London) via LASALLE—it was his time at the legendary École Philippe Gaulier in Paris that taught him his most humbling lesson: how to play sincerely and with beauty.
Yazid has worked across sixty professional theatrical productions and taught ensembles internationally over the last twenty years. His practice sits at the intersection of body, story, and presence. He is deeply invested in creating spaces where performers feel safe enough to stop trying to be "good" and simply start playing.
